Anastasia Tiller is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist based in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador
Anastasia has been exhibiting her work in Canada and internationally since 2008. Among her notable exhibitions in Newfoundland and Labrador are “Loops to live by” collective exhibition at the Rooms Provincial Art Museum and Archives 2019, “ Room for Happiness” solo exhibition at the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador 2020, installation “Symbiosis“ at the Bonavista Biennale 2023. Her recent solo exhibition "Symbiosis" was presented at the Elora Center for the Arts in Ontario in August and September 2024. In February 2025, Anastasia participated in a group exhibition of craftspeople from Canada's Atlantic provinces titled "Here & Now" at Somerset House in London, UK.
Anastasia is the recipient of the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts and Letters Award in 2025 and 2023.
Her work has been featured on the cover of NQ magazine as well as Riddle Fence. Articles about Anastasia were published in "Saltscapes" Canada’s East Coast magazine, Le Gaboteur magazine. She has been interviewed for CBC radio and radio Grand 101.
Her work encompasses monochromatic figurative referencing photographic imagery, gestural flat paintings, and colourful pointillism landscapes. Her textile works move in a different direction all together. Anastasia takes a fun and whimsical new spin on the traditional Newfoundland and Labrador art of rug hooking. Hooking was a craft taken up by Tiller during the long winters in Lethbridge, NL. With a fantastical approach to ocean creatures, the imagery is a playful departure from traditional approaches.
Loops of theatricality, bright pops of colour, and a flagrant optimism exude from these textile creatures which seek to brighten up the foggy or snowy days.
Tiller is actively involved in the provincial visual arts community as an art teacher as well as being a member of the Visual Artists Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Directors in the past and is presently serving on several committees for the organization. She participates in Francophone Community in the province.

Anastasia Tiller est une artiste multidisciplinaire canadienne basée dans la province de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador. Elle explore une variété de techniques et de matériaux tels que l'huile, l'aquarelle, l'acrylique et le textile pour traduire le monde qui l'entoure dans l'espace pictural. Son processus de recherche des formes et des couleurs des objets l'intrigue profondément. Grâce à l'art, elle exprime son authenticité et sa réalité personnelle.
Elle participe activement à la communauté francophone de Canada avec des projets artistiques en partenariat avec les organismes de la Fédération des francophones de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador.
Anastasia expose son travail au Canada et à l'international depuis 2008. Parmi ses expositions notables à Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, on peut citer l'exposition collective « Loops to live by » au Rooms Provincial Art Museum and Archives en 2019, l'exposition personnelle « Room for Happiness » au Craft Council de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador en 2020, et l'installation « Symbiosis » au Bonavista Biennale en 2023. En février 2025, Anastasia a participé à une exposition collective des artisans des provinces atlantiques du Canada intitulée "Here & Now" à Somerset House, Londres, au Royaume-Uni.
Anastasia est la récipiendaire du Newfoundland and Labrador Arts and Letters Award en 2025 et en 2023.
Son travail englobe des références figuratives monochromatiques s’inspirant d'images photographiques, des peintures gestuelles et des paysages en pointillisme coloré. Ses œuvres textiles prennent une direction complètement différente. Anastasia apporte une touche amusante et fantaisiste à l'art traditionnel du accrochage des tapis de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador. Le « tapis hooké »est un artisanat populaire dans sa région. Avec une approche fantastique des créatures marines, ses images s'éloignent de manière ludique des méthodes traditionnelles.
Tiller est activement impliquée dans la communauté des arts visuels provinciale en tant qu'enseignante d'art et a été membre du conseil d'administration des Artistes Visuels de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador dans le passé, et elle siège actuellement à plusieurs comités pour l'organisation.
